Larscn. son of Kathleen Kath-leen Kresser of Springville, recently departed on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, home ported in Everett, Washington. Larson is one of more then 10.000 Pacific Fleet Sailors and Marines aboard the ships of the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Battle Group and USS Belleau Wood Amphibious Ready Group who will soon participate in Operation Enduring Freedom. Carriers like this are deployed throughout the world to maintain US presence and provide rapid response in times of crisis. They serve as a highly visible deterrent to would-be aggressors, and are equipped with the most versatile and powerful weapons and aircraft air-craft available. The biblical justification is found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke arid in many references in the letters of Paul in the Bible. In Matthew, Mark and Luke the account differs slightly, but the command of Jesus is, "Do this in remembrance of me." In the Episcopal Church, the Eucharist Eucha-rist (derived from a Greek word meaning "Thanksgiving") is celebrated every Sunday, often in two or more services. In bigger parishes it occurs every day. Little round wafers of unleavened unleav-ened bread and wine mixed with a small amount of water are used. The water represents that part of the sacrament made by God and not human hands. The first part of the liturgy calls for hymns, prayers, recitation of the Nicene Creed which states our beliefs, two or three biblical readings and then a sermon by the Priest or Rector of the parish.
