If you are enthusiastic about baseball, you will be enthusisatic about "Damn Yankees." If you enjoy delightful meldic music, you will enjoy "Damn Yankees." This great musical offers an evening of enjoyable en-joyable entertainment that the whole family can relate to. Guiding the preparation of "Damn Yankees" is a team of talented young people whose dedicated enthusiasm en-thusiasm will produce an unforgettable show. Brent W. Lefavor is the guiding hand as director. Craig Call as choregrapher excites the dancers to fantastic production numbers. Dallin Pack as musical director sets the pace. Marcella Barrett is creating the colorful costumes. The players respond to their directors, headed by Ray ,Jones, Jane Beel Oxsori', Joel A. Osborne, Rob West and Linda Cameron as Lola, with a great supportive cast. A gentleman appears as if by magic. He calls himself Applegate and offers Joe the opportunity of helping the Senators-win Senators-win the pennant. Joe Spring classes at Springville Museum Oil Painting, Pottery, and Drawing classes start this week and next at the Springville Museum of Art. All classes last six weeks and tuition is $15, according to director Timothy Rose. Students may register at the first class period. Drawing, taught by Dusty Collings, will be Saturdays from 1 to 3 p.m. or 3 to 5 p.m. Starting Star-ting April 14. Children 12 and older are welcome to attend. More information is available by calling the Springville Museum. John Harris poetry workshop continues The third in a series of poetry workshops by poet John S. Harris will be held at the Springville Museum Wednesday April 18. Although this will be the third monthly meeting, each is a separate workshop and newcomers are welcome, Mr. Harris said. The workshop, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is for those who want to write poetry or discuss it. Mr. Harris will read some work of his own and others. John Sterling Harris is author of "Barbed Wire" and has had work published in several magazines and journals. Gordon Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Simpson. -Liif V A Youth symphony sponsors 'TAahonrV as fund raiser The Nebo School District Youth Symphony Orchestra is sponsoring a fund raising project to help defray expenses of a tour later this spring. Karl Allred, orchestra director, said the tour is being taken to further the cause of orchestra music. The fund raising project will feature Mahonri the Great Playhouse selects Art City Days play The Springville Playhouse, local theatrical organization, under the direction of Joyce Hulce, president, has selected the three-act production to be staged during Art City Days celebration the first week in June. "Down To Earth" by Bettye Knapp, is a highly entertaining comedy-fantasy comedy-fantasy and has been selected for a repeat performance at the Playhouse after having been presented several years ago there. It will be repeated this year with a new director,. Merle Schreiner, and a new cast which is currently rehearsing for the performances. per-formances. For this year's celebration, the Playhouse has selected a new production format for the play. Officers of The Springville Playhouse felt the new format would provide more flexibility for attendance at-tendance at the various Art City Days celebration events. All four nights of the play will be staged in the Civic Center Theatre located in the basement of the Civic Center, 50 South Main. It is direcetly under the library. Casting is nearl' complete for the play, Mrs. Schreiner stated, and rehearsals are going forward with the following cast members rehearsing: Anna Lee Strong, Kenneth Lauritzen, Steven Averett, Mildred Friel, Annette Harmer, Calleen Dallin, Merle Schreiner, Robert Jackson, Woodrow Weight.
