Lowry Anderson for mem bers of the Effan Bee Club when they met with Mrs. Mel-v- a Harrison on Thursday even-ing of last week. To illustrate various parts of the book Mrs. Anderson dis-played different types of sea shells which made the review more impressive. Claudin of Springville with a few of their dolls which they plan to show at the Linde-Claud- in Hobby show in Spanish Fork Friday as a benefit for the Spanish Fork Hospital fund. The show will be at the Stake House in the afternoon from 3 until 6 D.m.. and also from 7 to 10 p.m. Cora Lee Johnson of Springville will also exhibit her handkerchief collection and Hughes Curtis pieces of sculptor work. Many of the dolls in Mrs. Claudia's collection are over 100 years old. All have been authentically dressed. Musettes Sing In SLC Festival Members of the Springville Musettes, numbering approxi- - mately 26, participated in a music festival in Salt Lake City Saturday in the Tabernacle, the I event being sponsored by the ; Federated Music Clubs of the state and a Salt Lake City newspaper. The local group, directed by Mrs. Alberta Hoover with Mrs. ' Oleah Sargent and Mrs. Elaine L Puckett, accompanists, togeth- - er with the string ensemble gave one number alone and then i' combined with other music groups under the direction of - nr Shnnd for a chorus number. Games and lunch were diver-sion of the party and the group presented Mrs. Jim Felix with a baby gift for her little girl born February 18. Prizes for the evening's games went to Mrs. Carla Crandall and Mrs. Carol War- - ren. Special guests at the party were Mrs. Don Clegg, Mrs. Bert Roylance, Mrs. Doan Deat, Mrs. J. C. Others are to be appointed. It was decided that all new and retiring officers should at-tend the district convention and Mrs. Grace Crandall would be the official delegate. Leonette Giles entertained with violin selections, accom-panied by her mother, Mrs. Leon Giles. Mrs. Sanford read the club collect and Mrs. Ella Reynolds gave bits of philoso-phy. Stopping in Springville Sat-urday morning for breakfast with Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Thorn enroute for a vacation to the Hawaiian Islands were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Johnson and two daughters, Lynne and Janice of Salt Lake City; also Glen's mother, Mrs. Chester Johnson of Richfield, Ida., and Glen's wife's mother, Mrs. Smith of Preston, Ida. Visiting also at the Thorn home were Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Payne enroute to Boulder, Nevada. |
