Show Services held here Monday for Blanche Beal Funeral services were held Monday in the Eighth Ward for Blanche Rees Beal, 74, retired re-tired teacher and librarian, who died April 25, 1969 at the Utah Valley Hospital. Bishop William Wil-liam Ruff officiated. Burial was in the Springville City Cemetery directed by Wheeler Mortuary. She was born December 9, 1896, in Wales, Utah, a daug-ter daug-ter of Thomas D. and Elizabeth Rees Rees. She was married to Dr. Nelson Nel-son Beal on March 17, 1920, in the Manti LDS Temple. Dr. Beal died in 1937. Mrs. Beal moved to Springville Spring-ville in 1922. She attended Snow College and taught school in Juab and Sevier counties, and later served a mission for the LDS Church in the Eastern States. She had held many positions po-sitions in the auxiliary organizations organ-izations of the church, and had worked in the MIA for more than 25 years, including the presidency. Mrs. Beal was employed as librarian for Springville, and during World War II served as .... . ' Blanche Rees Beal a clerk in the OPA. She returned return-ed to BYU for her degree, and taught school from 1947 to 1963. She was a member of the Ladies Literary Club. She had given numerous book reviews and retold stories to club and church groups for many years. Surviving are a son and daughter, David N. Beal and Mrs. Rulon (Nedra) Fox of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; grandchild-ren; two great grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Dr. Don M. Rees and Mrs. Myrtle Ault of Salt Lake City. |
