Show LIONS AND LADIES ENJOY ELK BANQUET, PROGRAM The Lions club members and their ladies met last Friday evening eve-ning in the Second ward banquet hall where they enjoyed a delicious deli-cious elk dinner, prepared by the Fifth ward Relief Society. Dr. C. A. King, Lions club president, presided at the entertainment, enter-tainment, and Charles Straw was toastmaster for the evening. During the dinner, members and guests witnessed the premier showing of the now famous "Lion Tamer Four," comprising a four-piece four-piece band made up with drums by Glenn Holley, trombone by Will Parry, trumpet by Ralph Weight and piano by George Barrett Bar-rett of Provo. The finesse they displayed in rendering the ridiculous bordered on the sublime, and further appearances ap-pearances are predicted for them. After their performance, another masterpiece was rendered in the form of a reading by Mrs. Frank Morgan. After the dinner, members and ladies adjourned to the chapel where they enjoyed a fine program pro-gram consisting of a duet by Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Bybee, accompanied accompa-nied by Mrs. Maurice Bird; a musical reading by Mrs. Ariel Ballif of Provo, accompanied by her son Ariel, Jr.; a vocal selection selec-tion by Ariel Ballif, accompanied by his son; a violin solo, Mrs. Lewis Bird, accompanied by Mrs. Loyd Bird, and a vocal duet by Mrs. Jay Madsen and Lawrence Johnson. |
