Show Former Resident Dies at Duchesne Lucy Eleen Heaps Barney, 81, a former resident of Springville, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harvey Partridge, Duchesne. She is the widow of Joseph Feth Barney. She was born March 4, 1868, in Garsting Lanshire, England, the daughter of Henry and Suzzetta Heaps. When she was two years old, she immigrated with her family to Utah, settling first in Ogden and a short time later moving to Tanaba, Nev., where her father was engaged in farming. farm-ing. They later moved to Esca-lante. Esca-lante. She became the wife of Joseph Barney in the St. George temple Nov. 14, 1883. He died Dec. 25, 1939. She was an active member of the LDS church. Survivors include the following sons and daughters: John H. and Royal Barney, Springville; Wil-ford Wil-ford and Frank Barney, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lillis Alvey, Escalante, Mrs. Harvey Partridge, Duchesne. Also surviving her are forty-four forty-four grandchildren and sixty-four great-grandchildren. One sister and brother are still living, Mrs. Martha Allen, Victor, Ida., and Henry Heaps, Escalante. Friends may call at the Claud-in Claud-in funeral home in Springville after 1 p.m., on Sunday, and at the North ward church in Escalante Esca-lante Monday morning prior to the services, which will be held at 1 p.m., with Bishop Sherman Eyre conducting. Interment will be in the Escalante cemetery. |
