Show GENE L. BAKER SERVICES HELD Impressive and touching funeral fun-eral service were held Sunday for Gene L. Baker, who was killed recently re-cently in an auto accident in Virginia. Vir-ginia. Speakers were "Bishop William Witney, Professor James K. Nichols of the Brigham Young univesrity, 'and Principal W. W. Brockbank of the high school. Mrs. Mae Huntington gave his biography biogra-phy and gave also a tribute to him. Musical numbers were vocal selections se-lections by Max Mendenhall, "Without a Song"; Louise Straw and Erma Brailsford, "My Faith In Thee"; Hannah Rowland, "0 Dry Those Tears"; and string music mu-sic was played by Phyllis Smart. Accompanists were Mrs. Mary Witney and Mrs. Maryn Johnson. John-son. The opening and closing prayers were given by Reverend Elias Jones of the Cmmunity church and Fred Smith. Bishop Peter Nielson gave the dedicatory prayer. The Tausig social unit of the B.-Y. U., of which Mr. B-aker was a past president, attended the services ser-vices and acted as pallbearers. Special graveside rituals were conducted con-ducted by Howard McKenzie, under the direction of President Jack Halliday. |
