Show Chester Johnson Dies in S. L C. Funeral services for Chester Johnson, 67, native of Springville, who died in Salt Lake City on Monday of last week, were held in Salt Lake Wednesday. Burial was in the Springvile Evergreen cemetery. ceme-tery. Mr. Johnson was born in Springville Spring-ville January 12, 1886, t son of Willis K. and Sarah Mendenhall Johnson. He spent his early life in this city and volunteered May 17. 1917, for Marine Corps service in World War I. He served in Cuba and in Frace and was there when the Armistice was signea. He married Jennie Johnson Kindred, Kin-dred, June 1, 1921 in the Salt Lake Temple and had followed out-door advertising for 40 yearsQ; He was an active member of Browning Brown-ing LDS ward in Salt Lake and held the position of High Priest. He had liived in Salt Lake about 32 years. Survivors include his widow, a son, Chester Lamar Johnson, Salt Lake two daughters, Mrs. Jesse G. ' Jackson (Florence! Springville; Mrs P Martell Strong (Lucille) Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; grandchil-dren; three brothers, Willis K. Johnson and George Johnson of Springville and Richard Johnson of Salt Lake City. |
