Show Funeral Friday In Provo For -Former Resident Mrs. Sophia Louise Law Sheen, 62, wife of Ernest Sheen of Provo, died Monday in a Salt Lake hospital hos-pital following a lingering illness. Mrs. Sheen is a sister of Mark Law of this city and lived here during her early life. She was born Jan. 22, 1888, in Springville, a daughter of Charles O. and Signa Wing Law. She received re-ceived her academic education in Springville elementary and high schools. She was married to Ernest Sheen Feb. 23, 1910, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived at Burlcy and to Utah in 1929. Aberdeen, Ida., before moving back From 1929 until 1942 they resided in Bingham, and since have lived In Provo. Mrs. Sheen was an active member mem-ber of the LDS church, serving as president of the YWMIA in Springville Spring-ville First Ward, and as teacher in the Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School organizations in other wards. Surviving are her husband; one son and six daughters, Glen Sheen, twin Falls, Ida.; Mrs. Perry V. Jackman, Salem; Mrs. Donald D. Hogan, West Jordan; Mrs. Gam B. Dundson and Mrs. Dale R. Barney, Bar-ney, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Frank Stepan, Midvale; Mrs. Veldon Doyle Beard of Levan; 29 grandchildren; grand-children; one great-grandchild; four brothers and three sisters; Mark A. Law, Springville; Ray E. Law, Oakland, Calif; Hugh W. Law, Sandy, Salt Lake County; Kenneth Law, Pocatello, Ida.; Mrs. Signa Dederson and Mrs. Ada Ri-charet, Ri-charet, both of Brentwood, Calif., and Mrs. Alta Clyde, Hamilton, Mont. Another son, Ernest Jay Sheen, was killed in action in World War n. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Friday at 1 p.m. in Valley mortuary chapel, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday Thurs-day from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until time for funeral services. Burial will be in the Provo city burial park. |
