Show MISHAPS BRING DEATHTO TWO SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 9 V.V The fall semester's first fatality involving an automobile and a child returning home from opening open-ing day classes brought safety warnings from police and school officials today. Gail Grant, 8. was the victim. The boy, police said, dashed from the yard of the Monroe school in Grander and ran into the side of a passing automobile, driven by Leslie Nelson, 31, Cyprus high school teacher. A door handle struck the boy's head. He died shortly later. SALT LAKE CITY. Sept. 9 U'.fii A broomstick vaulting pole was blamed today for death of 12-year-old Jack Coleby, Salt Lake City schoolboy. The stick snapped, piercing the boy's body. He died 1 two days later. |
