Show SUII IFf BURIED AI ARLINGTON Commander Confers With Governor of Maryland, WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 (U.R) Commander Walter W. Waters of the bonus expeditionary expedi-tionary forces said today he believed the objections of Governor Albert C. Ritchie to i establishment of a bonus camp in Maryland would be withdrawn after further study of the situation. Waters was confident that his conference with the governor this afternoon would clear away "many of the apparent difficulties now existing." To Explain Project "I can hardly believe that the governor has been correctly informed," in-formed," Waters said, "both as to the nature of the camp which I intend in-tend to establish and the camp site itself. "It is my opinion that after our conference in Annapolis this afternoon af-ternoon many of the apparent difficulties dif-ficulties now existing will have been' ironed' out." ' ' Waters left his headquarters shortly before 10 a. m. to attend the funeral of William J. Huska, Chicago Veteran killed in Thurs. day's rioting. He planned to ao company the burial procession to Arlington cemetery and leave for Annapolis at 1 p. m. WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 (U.R) The bonus expeditionary force buried the first of its dead today with the salute of the United States army which only five days ago had driven it from Washington. Washing-ton. William J. Huska of Chicago, shot to death in as battle with police po-lice Thursday afternoon, was lowered low-ered into a grave at: Arlington national na-tional cemetery, there to rest among the heroes of the nation's wars. |
