Show Funeral honors life of local elderly matron Many friends and relatives paid tribute to the life of Christina J. Madsen at funeral funer-al services held Saturday in Twelfth Ward Church under the direction of Bishop Del Moine Christensen. Mrs. Mad-sen Mad-sen - died Wednesday at her home at the age of 81, following follow-ing an illness. Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery under un-der the direction of Wheeler Mortuary. She was born Jan. 7, 1882, in Skjern, Denmark, a daughter daugh-ter of Simon L. and Marie (continued on page 2, col.' 6) l7 "1 i 1 Christinp, J. Madsen, for for whom services were held Sat. in the Twelfth Ward. Funeral honors Mrs. Madsen (continued from page one) Elizabeth Hansen Jensen. She married Peter Madsen July 18, 1908 in Mapleton. The marriage mar-riage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple. Mrs. Madsen came to Utah from Denmark in 1908 as a convert to the LDS Church. She was an active member of the church and had worked in the Relief Society for many years. Surviving are four sons and three daughters, Hardus Jensen, Jen-sen, Copenhagen; Lawrence and Lyman Madsen, Colton, Calif.; James A. Madsen and Mrs. A. G. (Clarice) Wright, San Bernardino, Calif.; Mrs. P. V. (Elsie) Duke, Provo; and Mrs. M. Fred (Myrtle) Erick-son, Erick-son, Springvillei 22 grandchildren; grand-children; 18 great grandchildren, grandchild-ren, and a sister, Mrs. Thora Dangaard, Denmark. |
