Show Mrs. Annie L Kelsey Honored With Surprise Parties On 80th Birthday Tlie Lome of Mrs. Annie E. Kelsey of ll.is city was filled with surprises last week, llie occasioa being Iier eightieth birthday anniversary. anni-versary. On Thursday her daughters and daughlers-in-law took pot-luck lunch and spent the day at her home cleaning, and by nightfall a thorough job had been done. On Friday the girls returned and put a beautiful nine-patch quilt into frames and made ready for quilting. Saturday was her birthday and the girls returned and quilled the quilt and presented it to her for her birthday. At the home of Mrs. Ellery Kelsey things were happening also. While the quilling was going on, Mrs. E. E. Kelsey was preparing an elk supper. It was taken to the home of the cider Mrs. Kelsey, where covers were laid for 19 members of her family, including in-cluding sons and daughters and inlaws. The centerpiece for the dinner was a beautiful birthday cake, with the inscription, "Happy Birthday Mother." After the pheasant hunt the men joined the ladies for dinner at 6 p. m. The evening was spent in social conversation. Attending the parly were: Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sidwell of rairview, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Olsen of Payson, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Kelsey of Mona. Mr. and Mrs. Ellrey E. Kelsey. Mr. and Mrs. Mel-vin Mel-vin Kelsey, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kelsey and Calvin Kelsey of Springville, Mrs. Mary Elder of Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Oxel Johnson of Lemington and Mr. and Mrs. Clayborn Kelsey were unable to attend. Mrs. Kelsey was thrilled with her birthday surprises, stating that she never remembered when her birthday had been celebrated three days. She is in good health, walks to town, does her own shopping, and often attends as many as three picture shows in a week. |
