Show PARTY HELD ON 78 BIRTHDAY A delightful surprise social was held Sunday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Frances Peterson, beloved and well known mother of this community, whose seventy-eighth birthday occured that day. Guests included sixty of her close relatives. rela-tives. A feature of the afternoon was the opening of a large basket of birthday gifts while from a long dining table centered with a beautiful beau-tiful birthday cake holding 78 candles, luncheon was served. Mrs. Peterson, a daughter of George and Mary Pearman Giles, was born at W-aild, Hampshire, England, September 2, 1856. She came to Utah in 1867 with her father and stepmother, and passed through the hardships of early pioneer, days. She has lived in the same home here for fifty-six years. She has always been an active church worker. On January 12, 1874, she married John Nelson Peterson, in the Endowment En-dowment house. Salt Lake. She is the mother of twelve children and two adopted, with seven living, liv-ing, J. William, George A. Andrew G., and Mrs. Ronald Beardall, Springville; Mrs. . Ida Horton, Provo, Leslie Peterson, Salt Lake; I Mrs. Lela Lisonbee, G.den. She j also has 27 grandchildren; 15 i great grandchildren and one 1 great-great grandchild. i |
