Show WM. SUMSION IS HONORED ON 90TH. BIRTHDAY William Sumsion, pioneer builder, Indian war veteran, and highly respected re-spected citizen of Springville was the honored. guest at a reunion of the members of the Sumsion family held in the Third ward amusement hall Saturday evening, the event being be-ing in commemoration of the ninetieth nine-tieth anniversary of Mr. Sumsiou's birth. He wns born nt Colem, England, January 7, 1837, nnd came to Springville with his parents when a boy nine years of age, nnd has lived here since that time. He made several trips across the plains assisting as-sisting emigrants. During his early life he wns a railroad contractor, his later years have been spent on the farm, where he now resides. The direct descendants of Mr. Sumsion Sum-sion number about 05 most of whom were nt the party. The descendants of his two borthers George and James were also in attendance. The family presented Mr. Sumsion with a beautiful basket of carnations carna-tions also a large birthdnv cake holding 90 candles, after which Mr. Sumsion cave a short speech in response. re-sponse.
