Bonnto Long, Grant Cook, Norton and Dean Roberts, the latter of Provo. John R. Kindred and his .son Berne Kindred of Tooele, have just returned from u delightful business and pleasure trip. They went to Detroit, Mivh., where Berne purchased a new car and then made the trip home by motor. mo-tor. After visiting places of interest in-terest in Canada and around the Great Lakes, they went to Louis-v''!le, Louis-v''!le, Kentcuky, where they attended at-tended the L. D. S. church meetings meet-ings and also visited at the home I of President and Mrs. William T. Tew of the East Central states I mission. They then traveled to Tennessee and spent some time among the people of the church in various parts of that state, with whom Berne associated during dur-ing his mission, six years ago. They came by way of St. Louis, Mo., and enroute visited many places of church historical interest inter-est in that state. They also spent a short time in Denver, Colo., returning re-turning home Sunday. The high-lightq high-lightq of the trip in the opinion of Mr. Kindred was the visits with saints with whom his son had worked during his mission in Tennessee. Of special interest to friends here is the marriage of Miss Gretchen Greenlee and Joseph M. Ferrin, which took place in the Salt Lake temple on November 2f5. Th,a following evening a lovely reception was given at the Hyrum Jensen home in Salt Lake City for the young couple. A number of Springville friends and relatives were among the more than 300 guests. The bride was lovely in a ivory satin wedding wedd-ing gown with a long train veil caught to her head with ros-etts ros-etts of seed nearls. He bouquet was of calla liilics and rose buds. Her bridesmaids were Miss Irene Hummer of Salt Lake City, Miss Betty John Greenlee, sister of the bride and Miss Bernice Jensen Jen-sen of Springville. They all wore gorgeous taffetta formats. Little M'.-is Katherine Hales of this city was flower girl and led the wedding wedd-ing march. j Tn the receiving line wore Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carpenter Of this city, Clyde M. Ferrin, Miss Invitations were issued to nearly 300 guests. In the receiving line were Mrs. Kelley, aunt of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Palfreyman, Palfrey-man, parents of the groom, and members of the bridal party. The bride appeared lovely in a heavy white satin gown of Lan-vin Lan-vin model. Her veil was fingertip finger-tip length, caught to her head with a cornet of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white sweet peas. Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Blackett, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and more an attractive gown of blue mousse-line mousse-line de soi with a corsage of talisman talis-man roses and sweet peas. Miss Helen Palfreyman, sister of the groom; Miss Ruth Kirk ham of Provo, and Miss Emily Kelley of Provo, were bridesmaids and were dressed in pastel shades. Rapheal Palfreyman, brother of the groom, was best man. The reception featured a program pro-gram and dance. Mell Cherring-ton Cherring-ton of Provo was master of ceremonies, cere-monies, and vocal selections were given during the evening by Miss Helen Palfreyman and Elden Richardson. Jack Kelley of Provo Pro-vo entertained with tap dancing; Miss Melva Miller, readings, and the Condie sisters, instrumental music. Tn charge of the serving were Miss . Bernice Palfreyman, Miss Beth Miller, Miss Betty Cherring-ton, Cherring-ton, Miss Ina Miner, Miss Edith Russell of Provo, Miss Mildred Moe of Provo, and Miss Martha Bird. The gift room was in charge of Miss Olive Childs, Miss Melva Miller, and Miss Lucy Roy-lance. Roy-lance. A beautiful color scheme in yellow and white was carried out in decorations. The serving table was covered with a gorgeous lace cloth over yellow satin and was centered with a low bowl of white chrysanthemums with yellow yel-low candles in white holders at either end. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Conover and son Martin, and Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Bird left Wednesday to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Huish at their new home in Berkeley, Cal. Mrs. Bertha Rothwell left Thursday Thurs-day to visit her daughter, Mrs, C. J. Maynard and family at Arco, Idaho. She plans to stay about two weeks and return with her husband, James Rothwell, who has been harvesting crops at Arco. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bird had as their Thanksgiving day dinner guests, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Bird and children, Mr. and Mrs. Russen . Bird and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bird and family, and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Brown and daughter. Complimentary to Mrs. Lyman Davies, formerly Miss Helen Stallings of Idaho Falls, Idaho, a Minnie Ferrin, brother and sister of the groom, L. V. Adams, best man, and Miss Nadine Stott, of Salt Lake City maid of honor. Bernell Thorn of this city wa' among those included in the wedding march. In charge of the g Vt room, besides friends from Salt Lake City, were Mrs. Allie Jensen, Miss Margaret Pierce Mrs. O. R. Brewerton and Mrs. Eugene A. Hales of this city Miss Carol Allen of Springville was among a number of Salt Lake City and Ogden friends who assisted with the serving. Prior to the wedding the bride was honored with number of showers among which was one given by Mrs. L. V. Adams and Miss Minnie Ferrin of Salt Lake City, another by Miss Irene Hummer and other girl friends in Salt Lake City, another by Mrs. C. M. Ferrin and Mrs. J. J. Ferrin, Fer-rin, one by the girls of the Cap-Xol Cap-Xol club of which the guest of honor was a member and also one by the girls of the state tax commission office where she had been employed. The young couple will make their home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. C. H. Thorstexsen and Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Thorstexsen of Ogden were Thanksgiving Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mi's. D. A. Crandall. Members of the Jeune M 41-club 41-club held a delightful Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing party last Monday night, at Valley Tavern. A delicious dinner was served at one long table centered with a Thanksgiving motif. Later Bridge was played with high score prize going to Mrs. Mabel Wright- and the second sec-ond favor to Mrs. Madelyn Des-pa:n. Des-pa:n. In attendance were twelve club members. Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Crandall. o. Boise, Ida., spent a few days c their vacation last week with Mr. Crandall's parents, Mr. and Mi. D. A. Crandall in this city. Miss Ila Clyde was hostess at a nicely arranged and enjoyable surprise birthday party in honor of Miss Lois Johnson, at her home last Saturday night. Games and a tasty lunch were features and Miss Johnson received a number num-ber of lovely presents from those attending. Games and a tasty lunch were featured. The guest of honor received many lovely gifts. Mrs. Gene Mortenson and two sons, Floyd and Wayne, of San-ford, San-ford, Colo., visited one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Nielson and family here. Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Giles and daughter of Jackson Hole, Wyo., spent the Thanksgiving holidays with the former's sisters, Mrs. Agnes McKee and other relatives and friends in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harmer and family and Mr-, and Mrs. Almon Harmer and children were Thanksgiving Thanks-giving day dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Fred Hansen. . Mr. and Mrs. J. X. Gardner and son Dougall X., spent Thanksgiving Thanks-giving day with relatives in Delta. Announcement is made of the marriage of John Lee Barker, son of Mrs. Hannah Barker of this city, and Miss Lola Davis of Payson, which took place last Wednesday, in Salt Lake City, where the couple are making their home at present. In honor of the bride a miscellaneous shower will be given by relatives in Payson on Thursday night, and Mrs. Barker will entertain at a party at her home on Saturday night. 3 Mi-, and Mrs. J. Lewis Bird and son Jim came from Ely, Nev. to spend Thanksgiving day with their parents, Mrs. Clara Harrison Harri-son and Mr. and Mrs. W. A Bird. SPRINGVILLE Mrs. Agnes McKee came from Dell, Utah, where she has spent the past month, to spend Thanksgiving holidays with her family here. Mrs. Marilla Kelley of this city announces the marriage of her niece, Miss Mary Hadley, to Grant Palfreyman, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Palfreyman, also of Springville. Spring-ville. which took place Wednesday Wednes-day evening at the Kelley residence. resi-dence. A. W. Cherrington, uncle of the gronm, performed the ceremony cere-mony in the presence of the immediate im-mediate families.
