Show Disaster Services Sunday November 11 will always be remembered re-membered by the tlmnkful nation- as the day that marked the completion of bad job well done ; the completion of which meant the return of a million of her sous. March 8 will always be remembered remem-bered by this little mining town of Castle Gate as the day when 173 of her finest marched away and never returned. One hundred and seventy three of the finest: the husbands, fathers, brothers, sons and sweethearts sweet-hearts marched around the corner and gazed upon the face of their Maker. A year has passed and left, in place of the terror and anguish, a solace and 'consolation and the sweet philosophy that, in- but a few short years, loved ones will meet again their loved ones. That the day may be fittingly observed, ob-served, a mass meeting was called in Castle Gate Wednesday to formulate formu-late a proper program for memorial services for the coming March 8. Organizations represented and sponsoring spon-soring this memorial day are the Castle Gate Welfare association, (he : L. D. S. church, the American I,e-;$jon, I,e-;$jon, the Odd Fellows, the Kohekahs, the Knights of Pythias, the Castle Gate biind nnd the towir board. The chairmen mimed for the various var-ious committees follows: general committee, Alfred Editions; program, pro-gram, Joseph Parinley: procession, John Batchelor; decorations, Oliver Sutch ; publicity. Preston L. Wilson ; ushers, the American Legion. People from all over the state are expected to be present on this flay to honor the memory of their departed depart-ed ones. G. railroad bus voluntarily vol-untarily offered round trip transportation transpor-tation at fare and a hnlf to all relatives bereaved by the Cfistle Gate disaster. All so bereaved and wishing to attend the memorial services ser-vices will receive these reduced rates from their local agent. |
