the fiftyseventh anniversary of my wedding day My daughter Mrs Edith Powel met me at Tucker with sleigh and drove three miles in a blinding snow storm up Tie Fork to thehome of my granddaughter Mrs Hannah T Williams who had prepared a feast of good things including a real English plum pudding mince pies etc etc The mince meat was of her own manufacture manu-facture The only fruit they raise in Tie Fork is cedar berries and pinecones pine-cones but the pies were hot made from them Alma J Powel enlivened the occasion with phonograph Gomar Reese and family are staying at the asphalt mines at the head of Tie Fork waiting for spring for further development de-velopment of the mines They have the advantage of us in the valley in not having any quarrelsome neighbors to annoy them There are four men working at the lithograph quarry in Tie Fork under the direction of Mr Vorhees Two rows of box cars were standing on a siding at Tifcker when Forrest Benedict and some companions amused themselves by jumping across the space between the two trains when Forrest fell and broke his arm and jaw and otherwise disfigured his face His mother was just starting to the hospital hospi-tal at Provo with him when I arrived His brother Floyd Benedict was just recovering from a crushed foot which had confined him to the house for seven weeks Tucker is plentifully rsupplied with measles and other good things at the present time After sleigh riding up and down the canyon in two or three snow storms and otherwise enjoying myself I returned re-turned home last Friday feeling rested up and ready for business at the old stand May The Press continue to press on in the good work of advocating everything every-thing that is for the buildingup of our progressive city is the wish of SAMUEL
