He loves sports and played football for SFHS; he also lifts weights and likes to run. In addition to playing sports, outside of school he likes to play games and hang out with friends. If he were to go on a road trip, he would travel to Florida and would listen to everything. Everyone gathered after school and had a variety of soup, rolls and drinks, then set to work on service projects. The projects consisted of sewing and tying baby blankets, making bookmarks and cards. The blankets were made as receiving blankets that are to be sent to newborn babies in the Utah county region. The bookmarks were made to promote good reading habits in young children and to continue reading throughout their adult lives. Rebecca Greene said, "It was a great time to hang out with friends but also do something great for others at the same time." The National Honors Society plans to do many more projects that'll benefit not only themselves, but many more to come. It's a lot like fine art ... only cheaper Anyone having a skill or interest in engineering, programming and drafting are invited to join the MMHS robotics team! Maple Mountain High School is hosting the first ever district-wide robotics team, meaning all high school students (grades 9th- 12th) in Nebo School district are invited to participate. The robotics team is entering a NASA sponsored robotics event called "First Robotics." Teams from around the world participate in a robotics game developed by NASA each year. Not only do students have a chance to work on and build robots, Courtesy photo SF dance class students perform Emily McKinney SFHS 72 N. Recently the dance classes at Spanish Fork High School put on a performance to show their parents and other students what they had learned that semester. There were 13 different performances displaying a variety of styles including waltz, hip hop, modern, cha cha and triple swing. Bay lee Argyle, one of the Dance 1 students, said, "It was fun and loud. I'm used to performing, so I wasn't nervous." Brenda Mason, one of the dance teachers at SFHS, said, "It was excellent overall. They were a bunch of great students. Everybody just really pulled through." This performance took a great deal of preparation and organization on everybody's part, but it all seems to have paid off aftei\this successful night. •.i |
