Workplace at Salem Hills High Gerald Adams attended Salem Hills High School last Tuesday during Junchtime to talk with students about what he does for a career. Gerald works for the State of Utah in their computer programming division. He demonstrated the applications of what he has written by entering one of the students drivers license numbers and showing how it pulls the information right up for the officer, making it quick and simple to find out information such as any out- standing warrants and how many citations the person has received. The students were also shown a program' that displays the current location of patrol officers, how fast they are traveling in their vehicles and where they are. This presentation was part of the Work-based Learning Program and it's monthly "Window on the Workplace" that students attend by choice. Stiles is a student from Salem Hills High School who has had the opportunity to intern at the locally owned photography framing and printing shop in Payson for the second semester. "At my internship, I help Russell [my advisor] fix up photos. I even get to help him take some of the pictures in his studio." Stiles said one of her favorite parts of interning there is seeing the pictures her advisor takes and how they turn out when they are finished printing and framed. Not only does she get to observe, but she is also given projects to. work on Kylie Stiles herself. Currently, she is creating backgrounds for shoots in the studio.
