Once the Lady Dons hit the field, however, they did their part to melt what little snow may have been left over. The Dons bats were on fire as they dispatched the Mountain View Bruins in just five The Spanish Fork baseball team headed to sunny St. George with intentions of bringing home the same trophy they have owned for the past four seasons. The Dons entered the red rocks as the four-time Sunshine Tournament champions, and left outscoring their opponents 46-4 and winning their fifth consecutive tournament championship. There were many highlights on the ball field for See DONS • A9 Toad Roach / Spanish Fork News See SOFTBALL • A9 SFHS tennis wins tournaments Courtesy photo Lou Crandall f Spanish Fork News TOURNEY CHAMPS: Spanish Fork High School's boys tennis team won the varsity and JV tournaments in St. George last weekend. The JV tournament ended with Spanish Fork freshman Hunter Hullinger beating out teammate Taylor Johnson for the individual title. In the varsity tournament, The Dons defeated Meridan High 5-0, Uintah 5-0 and Granger High 5-0. In the Semi finals they beat Park City 4 - 1 , and in the finals beat Region 4 competitor Lehi, 3-2. The tournament featured 15 other teams including five other 5A teams. Also last week, the Dons defeated Timpanogos 4 - 1 and beat Lehi again 3-2, both on the road. This week we pjay home to AF on Tuesday and at PG on Thursday. f |
