The children made the terrariums out of cardboard bottom, two-liter pop bottle, play dough and a few craft products. The students have shown their knowledge of an insect cycle by adding eggs and cocoons to their project. These colorful creations were on display at the school's library for a week. This gave other students in the school a chance to view them with our class. Courtesy photos FANTASTIC FALCONS: Students from Foothills Elementary were selected as September's Fantastic Falcons. They took a nature walk and collected things along their route that they took back to the classroom. There, they discussed the signs of the coming season and drew pictures of the leaves and other things they observed. "We learned why the leaves change colors. I had a lot of fun," said Isabelle Francis, a kindergarten student in Mrs. Nichol Lyman's class. Pictured above are East Meadows kindergarten students on their nature walk. N E W S Spanish Fork IT'S OUTTA THIS MOULD! On Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, Riverview students had a visit from Super Woman (Amber Winn from the PTA). During an assembly, she talked to us about being safe and healthy. She told us to stop, use our heads, look left and right, and all around and listen to every sound. We played a game about how to cross the road. Super Woman had one kid from each class go up on the stage. She then had each group of students pop one balloon. Once they popped it, they read the note inside and demonstrated the activity. After they finished the game. Super Woman told us about pedestrian safety and Internet safety. After she finished telling us how to stay safe, the entire school went outside and walked around the field for our Gold Metal Mile.
