The Marketing Specialist spoke to them about what she does specifically to make her own company's product better. She studies other similar companies to get a view of what products are being used and what is proficient to her. National Merit Semi-finalists named Josie Osborn SFHS This year's National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist are seniors •Sharisa Nay and Kathryn Dallon. Each of these Spanish Fork High nounced in the spring if one, or both, of these ladies are National Merit Scholarship winners of $2300 scholarships, along with possible greater valued scholarships donated by other large companies and colleges. "Money for college is always good," explained the girls, "I would say [to all sophomores and juniors] to take the test. It's a good scholarship and is recognized by a lot of top colleges [as a great achievement]." Security Insurance TOP DON HONORING EXCELLENCE AT SFHS Amongst all the clubs at Spanish Fork High, the Key's Club is the world's largest high school service organization. As a member, you are given opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. This also looks good on college applications. The first meeting was held Wednesday, Sept. 24. 2008, at lunch, where they discussed the service projects they will be performing throughout the year. The Presidents of this club are Jocelyn Waite and Joy Prior. The fee to join is only $11, due no later than Oct. 15th. The Key's Club holds meetings every third Thursday in the month, during lunch, where they discuss and plan for upcoming service activities. The Key's Club is a great opportunity to serve our community! Senior Jesse Galovich is the son of Tom and Jan Galovich of Spanish Fork. He maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the swim team, Ambassadors, Concert Choir and Encore. He's doing an internship at a veterinary clinic in Mapleton and would like to pursue a career in medicine. Jesse would like to travel to Europe, especially Italy and Greece. Main Spanish Fort Allied Insurance School students took the (optional) PSAT Test as juniors and received very high scores. They filled out applications and wrote essays on their individual accomplishments, which qualifies them as Semi-Finalist. It is an- insurance 798-3500 Shaylie Russell is a 6th grade student at Salem Elementary. Shaylie is a happy young girl who always brings a smile to the face of her teacher and fellow students. Shaylie is diligent wiih her studies and her personal life. She always gives 100 percent with all of her school work. She is involved wilh dancing outside of school which adds to her busy schedule. Shaylie treats her friends and gpeers with kindness and respect, lanks. Shaylie for making the :hool a better place. Led by our very own legendary Colton Sermersheim, this group en- courages fun, fun, and more fun, through the noble sport of ping pong. If you take pride in your serve, can deal out some nasty backspin, or love slamming it to the ground, this is the club for you! I'd advise you to pay one dollar to the finance office and come join us at our opening social next Thursday. Oct. 9 in the new gym.
