Thanks to all for coming and preparing for the new season. We especially have great gratitude for our servicemen and women past and present. The new unit 68 Auxiliary presidency is: President Sandra Griffiths, Vice President Kim Kristofferson, Secretary Glenna Archibald and Treasurer DeeBurn Chaplin. Not pictured, Geiel Gaines, publicity. Our meetings are at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month at the Veterans Memorial Building. Jacqueline "Jackie" Steffens Voorhees, 70, of Spanish Fork, passed away, on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 in Provo. She was born Feb. 6, 1938 in Springville to Walter Lee and Verda Mae Humphries Steffens. She attended schools in Springville, graduated from Springville High School, and continued her education at B YU. She married Ted Clifford Voorhees on Nov. 14, 1959 in Springville and they were sealed in the Provo Temple in 1984. They are the parents of four children, two sons and two daughters. Jackie was a devoted wife and mother and loved to care for her family. She and Clifford started Circle V Meat in 1964 and she has worked side by side with him ever since. She dedicated Kiwanis Club Dinner APPRECIATION DINNER: The Kiwanis club recently met at Canyon View Park to honor those that helped with the Fiesta.Days rodeo stand. A delicious steak dinner with Dutch oven potatoes, beans and rolls was served to over 60 people. Many corporate sponsors were also honored — Macey's, Sam's Club, Circle V Meat, Hickory Kist, Rocky's and California Snacks. Chad Bunn conducted the meeting. She had a fun-loving spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She. was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Thalian Club. She served in numerous positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Primary, Sunday School, and 25 years in various Relief Society callings. She was a true friend and served many. She is survived by her husband, Clifford; children, Brenda (Dwight) Liddiard, Spanish Fork; Brent (Camille) Voorhees, Salem; Valrie (Paul) Stoneman, North Carolina; and Preston (Mindy) Voor- hees, Spanish Fork; a brother, Ross Steffens, Springville, and 7 grandchildren who adore her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Ray Brown. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 13 in the Leland Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www. walkerfamilymortuary.com Milestone James Austin Cope Jr. James Austin Cope Jr., of Spanish Fork, had his 90th birthday on Sept. 10th. He was born in 1918, in Tropic. He is the father of 13 children, grandfather to 78, and greatgrandfather to 180. A celebration was held in his honor with Florence - his wife of 67 years, and AnnEtta Merrill, Jay (Sharon), Nellie (Mike), Golden, Maurine (Ron) Hatfield, Bernard (Norma), NaDene (Gary) Simmons, Pat (Ron) Sanders, Jon (Nadene), Val (Marilyn), Vic (Elizabeth) and Todd (Denise). Richard and Sheila, of Michigan, were unable to attend. Their 12th child, Janet, passed away at 13 months. ' Jim served his country in WWII, was county assessor for 7 years, Post Master of Spanish Fork for 28 years, active in Kiwanis and the Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the American Legion. He served 3 missions, the last two with his wife. He was the first Bishop of 7th sealer and emeritus Patriarch.
