Show SPANISH FORK WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2009 • B3 Covering what matters most SHHS Spotlight Players' 'Little Women' performance review Amy Connelly SHHS The Spotlight Players of Salem Hills High entertained and impressed audiences with their recent performances of the musical, Little Women, based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott. The production ran from Monday, Feb. 2, to Saturday, Feb. 7. Spotlight Players is a class composed of a large number of students, so the musical was double cast. Each cast performed four times throughout the week, and both were equally fantastic. The lead role was played by Celeste Lee, a junior, and Sarah Clark, a senior, within their separate casts. The performances were especially unique because the characters moved about on a "theatre in the round." The audience was actually seated on the stage, allowing only^one hundred viewers for each show. Almost all of the showings were sold out, proving the excitement surrounding the production. The music was spectacular, as it was significantly enhanced by a pit orchestra composed of students from Salem Hills. Mr. Bills, the Spotlight Players director, shared his feelings, saying, "Everybody loves good stories, and here at Salem Hills we love good stories and good traditions. We are excited to begin our own tradition to put on meaningful productions that influence the community for good." That feeling can be found throughout all of Salem Hills, as new traditions are started everyday. The community can look forward to a Spotlight Showcase from Spotlight Players in May, and it is sure to be as fantastic, if not more, as the production of Little Women. Keep up the good work. wanted 'to do as a career before I got to college. As an intern I am not able to do everything that one employed in that field could do, but I am able to get the feel and see the different things that particular field entails. I have been able to ask questions about different things like the education required, how many years of training, and what are the pros and cons of the job. I have been able to figure out what things I enjoy and what things I would rather not do every day for the rest of my life. With the many different things I have experienced I have been able to narrow down my options. By narrowing down my options I hope to be able to get right into what I want to do and then save time and money after high school.
