This was a large invitational meet held at Clearfield High Schoof. Fourteen 5A teams competed in military, dance, novelty, kick and hip hop categories. The Las Chalitas had some great performances and placed fourth in hip hop and fifth in dance. Congrats on a great performance in a very tough 5A competition. The Las Chalitas are working hard on their upcoming events and competition and would like to invite everyone to attend. The will be hosting their annual entertainment night this Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. in the main gym. Registration is now under way for the Spring leagues that will play in the months of April and May. Coaches are needed. Leagues will be offered grades K-9. Early registration deadline is Feb. 11, 2008. Player fees paid prior to the 11th are $20 for K-6 and $30 for 7-9. Please note: Because some of the new soccer fields at the sports park may not be ready to play on in the spring, registration numbers will be limited in each division of play. Don't wait until the deadline or there may not be spots available. Get your friend, bat and snow clothes. The 2008 Winter Games Softball Tournament will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008. Team registration is due Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008. Game schedules will be posted on-line at spanishfork. org on Thursday afternoon. Team fee is $150. With each team guaranteed four games. Awards will be given lo first and second place teams and winners of the MVP Spoils Dog Sled Race and Gandolfo's Snowball throw. Women's Basketball Women's basketball teams should work on players and finding organizing teams by midFebruary. Team registration is set for Feb. 27. 200K. Last year's league featured 14 teams. If numbers are that high in 2008 we will divide the league in two divisions. Players without a team are encouraged to call the Recreation Office to be placed on one, 798-4068. Team fees are $100 per team sponsor and $35 early registration player fee. Youth Base/Soft Coaches It is never too early to look to baseball and softball in this town. Spanish Fork recreation is currently taking names of those who desire to coach in the coming Spring/ Summer leagues. Coaches are encouraged lo call in ami have'your name added to the "Coaches with Desire" list. Please call the recreation office at 798-4068. Both men and women are wanted.
