Golden Eagle swimmers finish regular season Mike Olsen STAFF W R I T E R For the Maple Mountain Golden Eagle swim team, the finish line is in sight. The swim meet between the Golden Eagles, the Springville Red Devils and the Orem Tigers, held at the Orem rec. center on Jan. 5, 2010 marked the last regular meet of the season. At this point in the season the swimmer are straining to cut tenths of a second from their times in anticipation of qualifying for the state meet which will be held at BYU Feb. 5-6,2010. The final chance for the swimmers to shave just a little more time will be at the regional meet which is being held this year at Uintah High School on Jan. 22-23, 2010. Coach Jeanna Brough has pushed her team hard this year and feels the first swim team of the newly formed Maple Mountain High School has set a high mark for subsequent teams to follow. Coach Brough would like to thank the exceptional efforts of her team captains, the great support from the swimmers' parents, and mostly the swimmers themselves. Those who made the consistent effort to participate in every meet and sacrificed sleep to attend all the practices will surely see their efforts pay off.
