New officers are President Karen Frost, Boys Scouts of America and Vice President/President Elect, Mike Mendenhall, Central Bank. New board members are Brad Tanner, Triple T Heating; Cary Robarge, Robarge Collision; Becky McConnell, Maceys; Lance Wilson, State Farm Insurance; Stacy Beck, Utah Valley Magazine; Steve Clegg, Clegg Automotive; Susan Barber, Western States Insurance; Tim Shanto, American Family Insurance. Continuing board members are Creed Stephenson, Title West; Susan Taylor, Susan's Hair Designs; Brenda Liddiard, Circle V Meat; Tracy Woodbrey, Mountain High Credit Union; Wyatt Andersen, Zion's Bank; Dana Robinson, Mr. Media and The Sentinel; Rick Ainge, Rick Ainge CPA. Representatives are Lana Hiskey, Nebo School District representative; Rod Dart, Spanish Fork City representative; Todd Gordon, Salem City representative; Seth Sorensen, Rotary representative. We know that with this dynamic board the Chamber will continue to move ahead as a successful support to our businesses and community. Thanks to Creed Stephenson 2009 President and Karen Frost 2009 Vice President/President Elect Namon Bills / The Sentinel TOTAL CITIZEN: Spanish Fork Mayor Wayne Andersen accepts the Total Citizen of the Year Award from new Chamber President Karen Frost. for all of their hard work in solving many issues with the Chamber and making 2009 a banner year for our Chamber. We appreciate them and look forward to another successful year with their help. We want to acknowledge and thank our outgoing board members who have volunteered and served our Chamber and business community so well: Dr. Veloy Cook, Cook Chiropractic; Randy Brailsford, The Car Guys; Jean Duffield, Mountain America Credit Union; Rocky Giles, Rocky's American Car Care; Steve Wilson, State Farm Insurance; and Seth Sorensen, Nebo School District. And a very special Thanks to Karen Payne for her 16 years of service to the Spanish Fork Chamber. She has served and volunteered many hours to support the chamber which she loves. We wish Karen much happiness and we are glad to call her friend, mentor and historian of our chamber. Community awards were also given during the Installation and Awards Banquet held Jan. 8 at the Chillon Reception Center. These awards are voted on by the members of the chamber and special awards are nominated by Spanish Fork and Salem Mayors, Nebo School District and the 2009 Chamber President. The awards given on Friday were: Business of the Year — Cary's Designs Floral; Business Person of the Year - Eric Melander, Photo Guru; Total Citizen of the Year - Wayne Andersen; Community Action Awards — Blake Barney, B & B Rental and Bryce Walker, SFCN Channel 17; Business Education Partnership Award — Bill Summers, Maceys; Salem City Mayor's Award — Reid Nelson; Spanish Fork City Mayor's Award — Maureen Henderson, J-Mart Printing; 2009 Chamber President's Awards — Junior Baker, Spanish Fork City Legal Council, Seth Perrins, Spanish Fork City Assistant Manager and Dave Anderson, Spanish Fork City Plan- ner. The Chamber thanks all who attended this event with special thanks to The Chillon Reception Center, Cole's House of Trophies, Cary's Designs Floral, SFCN Channel 17, Spanish Fork Press, Spanish Fork Sentinel, Miss Spanish Fork Ginger Christopher, Miss Salem Sarah Alanis, Venture Crew Color Guard, and the Mapleton Chorale Chamber Ensemble. These supporters gave willing of time and talent to make this Business of the Month ALL ABOARD: B&B Rental was recognized by the Spanish Fork/Salem Area Chamber of Commerce as the first Business of the Month for 2010. Blake and B & B have been supporters of the Winter, Lights Parade for many years. They have built several lighted silhouettes for our parade that they rent to businesses each year. Blake has also been involved with the Chamber of Commerce in lining up the parade route, floats, and advertising. Go down and visit Blake for equipment rental and many other services that they provide. They were welcomed Saturday, Jan. 9 by Chamber of Commerce board members, including newly-installed Chamber President Karen Frost, chamber business members, Miss Spanish Fork Ginger Christopher, local media, clients and young friends for the official ribbon cutting.
