"It was pretty cold standing there on the street corner," said MMHS Key Club President Ka- tie Tanner. "We had some hot chocolate though that helped warm us up. What was really great to see was how generous people were in our community." Students from SFHS's Key Club collected money outside Macey's grocery stpre and others joined with MMHS Key Club members who stood at the corners of Main Street and Center Street. Spencer Pugh, SFHS's Key Club President said that even though different people gave change or dollar bills, when you add it all together, great things can be done. After spending nearly four hours collecting donations, a total of $780.63 was raised. This money was combined with additional money raised by the clubs this past summer from running a concessions stand at the Fiesta Days Rodeo in conjunction with the Spanish Fork Kiwanis Club. Christmas stockings were purchased and then loaded with candy, oranges, and a Walmart gift card for over seven needy families. The idea for the project came from Carol Tanner, Kiwanis Advisor to the MMHS Key Club. She was thrilled that ov.er 30 high school students helped collect donations and prepare packages for the families. The Key Club members and faculty advisors want to thank everyone in the community who donated to the service project making it possible for several families to have a much better Christmas than they would have otherwise had! lution regarding the assignments of city council members and mayor proWith Mayor Brian tem.
