Show SPANISH FORK 6 • MARCH 2009 William H. Spurgeon Award THE WILLIAM H. SPURGEON AWARD went to Shanna Besendorfer, Explorer Post #1974, Provo Police Department. Shanna has been an advisor for the Provo Police Department Law Enforcement Explorer Post (LEEP), for the past three years. She is essential to the success of this post. She contributes her time, talents, resources and her dedication to this position. She has been crucial in recruitment, record keeping, promotion and she is the link to the learningfor-life representative. She organizes, transports to and oversees most of the activities that the post participates in. And if that weren't enough, she does it alt with an infectious smile and a happy attitude that has been vital for these young men and women. Shanna is wonderful at helping the youth recognize and fulfill their potential and giving them the life tools to succeed in all they do. Shanna is truly an outstanding person and everyone she associates with are better people having known her. Namon Bills / Spanish Fork News William D. Boyce Award Timberline Namon Bills / Spanish Fork News Namon Bills / Spanish Fork News ORGANIZATION: The William D. Boyce award for new unit organization went to Kent Wetzel and John-Michael Zimmerle. TIMBERLINE: The three Palmyra districts will host Timberline at Mountain Dell campground this summer, June 15-20, June 22-27 and Aug. 3-8, 2009. Scouts ages 12 and 13 who have advanced to or beyond First Class and hold a leadership position in their troop are eligible to attend. Timberline focuses on youth leadership training.
