Show -NEWS Covering what matters most Weddings Spanish Fork Wedding WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13, 2008 • A5 Missionaries Alyse Pepperdine Alyse Pepperdine has recently returned from serving in the Ecuador Guayaquil North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spoke in the Spanish Fork 8th Ward on Aug 10. Alyse is the daughter of Scott and Carol Pepperdine. Jacob Boden Harmer, Mecham The children of Elaine Harmer and Ray Mecham are happy to announce the marriage of their parents on Saturday Aug. 16. Please join us on this blessed occasion. An Open House will be held in their honor from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Palmyra Ward Chapel, 1866 West 5000 South. Cox, Jarett Stanley and Nina Cox are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Afton Leigh, to Bryan Jarrett, son of Linette and Chuck Jarrell and Larry Jarrett. Bryan and Afton will marry on Aug. 16 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A reception will be held at the Jarrell home from 6:30-8:30 p.m. that evening, and friends and family are invited to attend. In case of inclement weather, the reception will be held in the LDS church at 1490 East 130 North, Span- ish Fork. Afton is from Battle Creek, Mich. She is a senior at BYU, and upon graduating, will pursue an advanced degree in psychology. Bryan served an LDS mission in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from BYU in April. He will be attending the University of Chicago Law School on scholarship this fall. Bryan and Afton will make their first home in Chicago. Milestone Nielson, Dalley Clay and Angela Nielsen are delighted to announce the marriage of their daughter Katelyn Anne to Brandon Dalley, son of Jay and Guisela Dalley of Kaysville. They will be married Saturday, Aug. 16 in the Salt Lake Temple. Brandon attended West High in Salt Lake City. He served in the Peru Lima North mission, and graduated in April from BYU with a Bachelor degree in Spanish and minor in communications. Katelyn attended Spanish Fork High, and she will graduate this December from BYU Hawaii with a Bachelor degree in English. The couple will reside in Hawaii while preparing for law school. They will be honored with a family celebration following their marriage. Milestone Rodney and Delrae Hatch Rodney R. Hatch and Delrae Thomas Hatch celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Aug. 12. They were married on Aug. 12, 1958. They are the proud parents of two children, Janelle D. Nichols and Tony R. Hatch. They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. Rodney is retired from Geneva Steel after working there for 34 years. Elder Jacob Boden will return home on Aug. 14 from serving a full-time mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Baltimore Maryland Mission. Jacob is the son of Brian and Teresa Boden. He will speak in the foothills Ward, Salem Stake Center on Aug. 17 at 12:50 p.m. Tiffany Hansen Tiffany Hansen has been called to serve in the Florida Orlando Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She entered the MTC on Aug. 6. Tiffany is the daughter of Clyde and Marjorie Roach of Spanish Fork and Kim and Michelle Hansen of Salem. 1st Birthday Maicie Grace Harper Clair and Jewell Swenson In observance of their 60th wedding anniversary, Clair and Jewell Swenson will be honored at a family party to be hosted by their children, Saturday, Aug. 16. Clair and Jewell were married Aug. 25, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple by Joseph Fielding Smith. Clair was bom in Salem, the son of Nephi E. and Emma C. Swenson. Jewel! was bom in Elberta, the daughter of Arnel L. and Dott J. Barney. Clair served as a pilot on B-29 bombers during World War II. He graduated from Utah State University. Clair and Jewell have been very active in their church, and served in several callings. Clair served as Bishop, School High Councilor, High Priest Group Leader, Sunday Teacer and Stake and Ward Clerk. Jewell has served in the primary, Relief society and primary Stake Boards. She is also active in the D.U.P. Together they have served as Stake Missionaries, eight years at the Extraction Center doing Danish records and eight and a half years as ordinance workers at the Provo Temple. They are the parents of five children: Pauline (Brent) Esplin, Cedar City; Regina (Bert) Dawson, Martinez, Calif.; Michael C. (Linda) Swenson, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Boyd A. (Jeanine) Swenson, West Jordan; and Kirk B. (Sheri) Swenson, Idaho Falls, Idaho. They have 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. They have enjoyed traveling the last several years to several foreign countries as well as many places in the United States. Maicie Grace Harper turned one year old on July 13. She celebrated her birthday with her parents, Natalie and Jason Harper, her grandparents, Scott and Brenda Oberhansly, Alan and Beverly Harper and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.
