He celebrated his first birthday on Aug. 14. His proud parents are J.T. and Amberly Collett His grandparents are Bryon and Carrie Peterson of Spanish Fork and Jim and Carol Collett of Salem. He is lucky enough to have three sets of great grandparents, Gary and Carma Roach, Wayne and Arlene Peterson, and Abraham and Mary Allan, all of Spanish Fork. Braiden is a happy boy who loves to wiggle and dance, play with his cousins and get into everything. Happy birthday bug, we love you so much! Brynlee Ann Rees A party was held to celebrate Brynlee's big day! This spunky brown-eyed cutie will turned 1 year old on Aug. 21. Brynlee loves to tease and giggle when playing with her big sister, Maddie. Her proud parents are Brandon and Jennie Reese, and her delighted grandparents arc Judy and the late Robert Guilbert, and Lannie and Mary Reese all of Spanish Fork. Seniors receive grant Steve Hardman / Spanish Fork News WISH GRANTED: The Spanish Fork Senior Citizens received a welcome donation from an area organization at their luncheon on Monday, Aug. 13. The Provo Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and Aerie #2924 presented the center with a $1,000 check. Arthur Janes, JoAnne Williams and Cora Swenson represented the Eagles at the presentation. Mayor Joe Thomas, Councilman Wayne Andersen, Senior Center Director Joyce Webb and Leah Butler were on hand to receive the donation. Arthur Janes and JoAnne Williams applied for the grant and received the $1000 check on behalf of the Senior Center from the international FOE organization. Kindermusik Demo Days Kindermusik International is hosting a world-wide day of free musical learning to children around the globe. On Thursday, August 23, two local Kindermusik educators are participating in Demo Days - they join more than 5,000 licensed Kindermusik educators who will conduct free music class demonstrations for families around the world. "It's so exciting to be one of the thousands of educators joining in Demo Days," said Cammy Peterson, a Kindermusik educator in Salem. "Nothing compares to the joy I see in children's faces during Kindermusik class, and to think all these faces are lighting up around the world during this single week is amazing." Free Kindermusik Demo classes will be offered in Salem by Cammy Peterson and Jennifer Baker at the Stars Dance Studio, 576 West State Rd. 198 on Thursday, Aug. 23 from 9 a.m.-l p.m. Demo classes will be offered for.children ages three to five at 9:30 a.m., ages oneand-a-half to three at 10:15 a.m. and ages newborn to 18 months at 11 a.m. For more information call Cammy at 423-3762. Volunteering Mountain View Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary is pleased to announce Emma Dell Larsen has been chosen as Volunteer of the Quarter for July 2007. Emma has been a hospital volunteer since 1996, serving at Mountain View Hospital and Dixie Regional Medical Center. Emma was born on February 18, 1934 to Rodney and Mabel Banks. She was bom in the house where she grew up in Spanish Fork. She has two sisters and one brother. She claims she was the oldest and also the boss. She graduated from Spanish Fork^High School and BYU with a degree in education.She began her teaching career in Arco, Idaho where she was introduced to her husband Paul. After a short romance of only three months, they were married. They made their first home in Spanish Fork and have remained there for 48 years. They have been blessed with four children. Penny, Julie. Lori and Mark. They have four granddaughters and 11 grandsons. During her career she taught junior high and high Obnoxious snoring? school students English, reading, social studies and home economics. She retired in 1997 after 25 years of service. Emma and Paul enjoy touring Utah's historical sites. She enjoys quilting, handwork, quilting, traveling and more quilting. Emma and Paul loved spending summers at Lake Powell with family and friends. Emma Deli is a wonderful hospital volunteer. She has quilted hundreds of beautiful baby quilts to be sold in the hospital gift shop. Many babies have benefited from her hard work. Emma and her husband spend the winters in St. George. Not to be idle, she also serves as a volunteer at Dixie Regional Medical Center. Ivlountain View Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary appreciates Emma's willingness to serve. She has a special talent for making beautiful quilts.
