The Salem Days theme is Salem - A Little "Peace" of America, so the parade will have a very patriotic feel to it. We are grateful for thefreedomswe enjoy in this country and appreciate the heritage we've all been blessed with. We are proud of our unique community and are anxious to showcase and celebrate Salem's residents, whether they be veterans, political leaders, children, sports-minded youth, local businesses, seasoned citizens, or simply the neighbor next door. Given this year's patriotic theme, we invited Governor Huntsman to participate in the parade. He wrote back expressing his regret at not being able to attend as he will be out of the country. But he has already requested to take part in next year's parade. We have added some fun and exciting features to this year's parade and know that it will prove to be entertaining and enjoyable for all who join with us. The parade begins promptly at 10:30 a.m. beginning on the corner of 300 West and 300 South, circling around the pond, down Main Street and ending at the downtown ball park. We acknowledge the willingness of each member of our committee that will assure the smooth flow and success of the parade and thank them for their willingness to serve. We are still accepting participants and would invite you to join with us. Last year's parade featured 62 entries and Tired of feeling like Old Mother Hubbard? we're aiming for 101 this year!
