Film Club plans SFHS Movie Night Stephen Parry SFHS The Spanish Fork Film Club is going to have a film night at the high school, though the date has not yet been scheduled. The film night will consist of an old silent film, and there will also be a showcase of movies made by the Film Club students. The black and white silent film was directed by and also stars Buster Keaton, a 1920s filmmaker and comedian. Throughout his films, Keaton maintains his trademark "stone face," and he is also known for his astonishing stunts. In the 1920s, because there was no way of recording audio, live bands would accompany the films with a musical score. Following this tradition, it is planned to have the Spanish Fork Orchestra perform ACT Test Information Registration Deadline for the Feb. 9, 2008 ACT Test is Jan. 4, 2008. This past Thursday, the Spanish Club held a special lunch where students were invited to bring their favorite Latin American foods. "We sampled all sorts of food," said Yesel Rodriguez. "Most people only think of Mexico when they think of Spanish food. Even though the speech is similar, the food and culture is very diverse." Students were able to learn about the different cultures and backgrounds of Latin America. "We learned a lot, but I think the thing we gained most was weight," said Rodriguez. Robin , Reed has been taking interior design classes since her junior year. Her cousin is a designer and had a great influence on her interest in the class. She loved the class so much that she decided to intern for Ogden's Carpet this year. "Being an intern is such an amazing opportunity," Reed said. "You learn so much in such little time. It definitely has helped me see design in a whole different perspective. It's a Courtesy photo SOUTH OF THE BORDER: Members of the SFHS Spanish Club try various foods from Latin American countries. The team believes in each other and in themselves and that is what I think keeps us motivated and gives us the strength we need to win the race." 4 terrific feeling — walking into a room that you have designed and knowing that you made a huge accomplishment. Being able to design, create and put your own ideas in a room makes all your hard work and time seem like nothing. I not only have been learning about the decorating part of design, but also the business part. Learning about the business helps me come to reality that design is more than just having fun; it involves a lot of hard work, but if you love your job then nothing can get in the way of your success." Youth Council provides service Amber Cole and Andrew Wilson SFHS On Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, the Spanish Fork Youth City Council met at the Spanish Fork City Library for the first service project of the year: raking up all the-leaves at the City Park.
