Show 1 -NEWS- Spanish Fork A8 - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2007 Covering what matters most Namon Bills / Spanish Fork News SYMPHONIC VISIT: The Utah Symphony came to town on Monday, Dec. 3, performing to a packed house at the Spanish Fork High School auditorium. Tickets to the two performances were available only to an exclusive audience — Nebo School District fourthgraders. Over 2,200 fourth-graders from Springville to Santaquin attended the concerts, made possible by a professional outreach program funded by the state legislature. Assistant Conductor David Cho and Symphony Education Manager Beverly Hawkins led the students through what, for some, was their first experience with a symphony. Thanks to Nebo Arts Coordinator Julie Christofferson, Food Service Supervisor Bill Vest, SFHS Orchestra Director Margaret Larson and SFHS Band Director Bryant Smith, along with others who helped facilitate the program. PRE-SHOW: Above, SFHS orchestra students performed an impromptu performance prior to the concert to introduce fourthgraders to the various string instruments.
