They were cheering for Tennesse because a former Thunderbird's football coach was standing on the Titans' sideline. Bart Andrus, Tennessee's quarterbacks coach, was the offensive coordinator at SUU from 1993-1995. He worked under SUU's athletic director Jack Bishop, who was the head coach at the time. "I brought him in to enhance our passing game," said Bishop. "He's an awfully good coach.· In his first year at SUU, Andrus helped coach the team to an American West Conference Championship. After leaving SUU, Andrus took over at Rocky Mountain College, a feam that hadn't won a game in four years. He coached there only one season before leaving for the Houston Oilers, but guided the team to a 6-4 record and helped Rocky Mountain become ranked first nationally with an average of 505 yards an 39.6 points per game. Andrus began his coaching career as a-graduate assistant at BYU in 1984,•when the Cougars won the National Championship. "I'm way excited for him,· said Bishop.
