The banquet will recognize the accomplishments of Larry Pendleton, owner of Pendleton Building, headquartered in Parowan, and Scott B. Snow, senior vice president of finance and treasurer for New York-New York Hotel and Casino. Pendleton will receive the local businessperson of the year award from the Chi Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, a national professional business organization. The outstanding business alumnus award will go to Snow. The recognition banquet, sponsored by PBL, will start at 7 p.m. in the Whiting Room of the Hunter Conference Center. Tickets are $10 per plate. Pendleton is an entrepreneur who, more than 20 years, has built a small residential contracting firm into a construction business which successfully bids on commercial projects over a multi-county area in southwestern Utah. Prior to joining N ew York-New York, Snow had worked as central region controller for Boyd Gaming Corporation, vice president of finance and assistant general manager at Ramada Express in Laughlin, Nev., controller at the Tropicana Resort and Casino, and audit senior for Coopers and Lybrand in Phoenix; Ariz. Spring quarter begins here March 25 Contrary to several published calendars, SUU's spring quarter will begin on Wednesday, March 25. Some calendars have the qu:µter's fust classes on Monday, March 23, but that is incorrect. Registration for the quarter begins Feb. 23 and continue by scheduled categories through April 8. However, note officials, a late fee will be assessed beginning March 31. Students with senior standing (those who have completed at least 135 quarter hours) will register Feb. 23-25. Juniors (90-134 hours completed) and students who will complete an associate degree or a certificate of completion this spring will register Feb. 26-March l. Sophomores (44-89 hours) will sign up March 3-5, and advanced status freshmen (those beginning at least their second quarter) will register March 610. New fresh men will select their classes March 11-12. Open registration for all students who have not already signed up will begin March 13. It's the Purchase of a Lifetime ...
