Show SIGMA NU INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY 10 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE AT SOUTHERN UTAH UNIVERSITY Established in 1987, the Lambda Iota Chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity has been a successful organization on campus as well as in the community. Sigma Nu is an Honor ratemity that prides itself on Brotherhood, an9 the ideals·o of LOVE, TRUTH, and HONOR. Locally, Sigrr\a ~ Nu boasts members that constantly strive:-to mee these ideals, as well as learning about ethics anc:f leadership. Sigma N u Fraternity has the only leadership program of its kind , call~d L.E.A.D.,. which stands for Leadership Ethicsr 1 Ach ievement and Development. Through this program one learns to use his own diverse talents and abilities to further his own success as well as that of the chapter. Members of Sigma N u are active in all aspects of campus life, includm.g such activities as the Thunderbird Football team, the track tea1n , Psi Chi, the Art Club, RHA, Presidential Ambassadors, Club Max, U1)ited Greek Council, arid SUUSA just to naine a few. As w ell as being active on camp us, Sigma Nu is very active d oing philanthropy work m the community. Every year the brothers p , ton the Annual Sigma Nu Haunted House, as welt' as providing the Annual Sigma Nu EasteF Eggritin~ for Cedar City. Our newest philanthropy is the Women's Crisis Center. It has been a treat as well as a great experience to share our time and efforts with these women. Nationally, Sigma Nu is proud to have 210 active chapters across the United States and Canada. Since the original founding in 1869, the~e nave tteen 195,000 initiates, 150,000 of those are still alive. Srgma Nu Headquarters, located in Lexington, Vrrginia, is a shrine and a landmark to all fratemities,oeing visited by more people than any other frat~rnity headquarters combined. Sigma Nu was founded against Hazing, and .remains so stiJ] today. We have always been the leaders in the Greek world, having been the first National Fraternity with a Risk Reduction policy, the ~st and only with a Leadership program, and the first to make the resolution to make all of our chapter homes alcohol free by the year 2000. But why join a fraternity? A fraternity can give you wh atyou cannot achieve through any class. It p rovides you w ith an education in life. It also provides a bond of b rotherhood and friends11ip that lasts throughout life, as well as bei.J}g a family away from home.
