Students may register through today, but a late registration fee will be assessed if tuition and fees are not paid today. A phone-in registration is possible by calling 586-7714 or 7716 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. A complete schedule of second session courses is available at the SUU Registrar's Office on the second floor of the Administration Building. "Our regular summer school classes are broken into three time frames: a regular session, from June 22 to Aug. 24, a first session from June 22 to July 17 and a second session from July 20 to Aug. 14," says Phillip C. Carter, associate provost for academic programs and dean of summer school. "We are just completing our first session and starting the second session. The regular session, of course, is now half completed." Information about any of these offerings is available by phoning 586-7850, the SUU Division of Continuing Education, or 586-7715, the Registrar's Office. Registration costs vary from program to program. "We still have a number of programs which revolve around the Utah Shakespearean Festival and which provide an excellent chance for peole to pick up a credit or two, along with some special insights," Carter points out. "There are also opportunities for campus visitors to see some special exhibits at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery and at the special collections area of the University Library." Although a smattering of courses continue beyond the end of the second session, the summer school program essentially ends Aug. 14. SUU's fall quarter classes start Sept. 22. Early Childhood Creativity, July 28-30; Introduction to Special Education, July 27-31; Creativity in Education, Aug. 10- 14; Diagnosis of Reading (master's program), July 20-29; English Seminar (master's program), July 20-29. Principles of Leaming (master's program), July 20-29; Improvement of language Arts (master's program), July 20-Aug. 7; Legal Aspects of Special Education (master'~ progr~m) Two cage assistants picked (continued. from page 5) Lowe, 32, comes to SUU from New Mexico State University, where he has spent the last three years as an assistant to former Weber State coach Neil McCarthy. New Mexico State has made three straight trips to the NCAA tournament while Lowe has been on the staff, including last year's appearance in the Sweet-16 after wining the Big West Conference tournament. Prior to joining the staff at NMSU, Lowe was a four-year assistant at College of the Desert, Palm Descn, CA Lowe also started and coached the junior varsity program at his alma mater, George Fox College in Newburg, OR. His N teams went 44-19 in two years, including a 27-7 record in 1983-84, at that time the best record ~ the school's history.. The graduate of Redding, CNs Enterprise High School also attended Lassen Junior College in Susanville, CA. He and his wife, ' Kelli, have one child, Casey, two yea.rs old "Both of these guys have had good experience working with topnotch programs," Evans said. ."They both have a good understanding of what it takes to have a successful program.
