Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS News 2 WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1, IttT Fredonia Town Council meeting The Fredonia Town Council met at the Fredonia Library on November 12, 1997, at 6:30 p.m. with council members Robin Button, Steven Winward, Joy Jordan and Greg Honey present. Guests were Jim Matson, Gordon Whiting, Barry Hatch, Lori and Tom Corrigan, Rosemary Lab rum, Larry Switzer, Jim Lehman, Mike Case beer, Rick Crawford, Bob Lathim, Mike Mellor, Willie Lee and Mark Whipps. Bob Laithim reported that the limb pile will be moved and will be located off the old dump road. He has received several bids on a rototiller and will have them on the next agenda for council action. Kevin Jackson and Bob Lathim attended a crack sealer school at Colorado City today. Colorado City wishes to rent our crack sealer for a couple of weeks to repair their airport. There needs to be water shed protection for Fredonias water source. Joy Jordan will attend the Water Conservancy Board meeting in Kanab tomorrow night. Tree trimming is being done on the power lines and there is light trimming being done on the park trees and the cemetery trees. Mike Mellor reported 29 moving violations. There were 20 cases which included theft of services, theft, criminal damage, theft, private property accident, custodian interference, shooting in town limits, theft at high school, warrant arrest, DUI, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, theft, aggravated assault, cruelty to animals, traffic accident at the Post Office, private property accident at the Texaco, burglary at the Buckskin, theft of sprinklers at the park, domestic violence, DUI at milepost 31 on Hwy 389. Mike Mellor and Judge Black attended a meeting in Flagstaff today on the new jail. The FlagstaffJail will be a 350 bed facility and construction should be started in the spring of 1998. The Page facility will be a 14 bed holding facility. There will be much equipment used to save travel for judges and prishi-te- ch oners. Rosemary Lab rum told about cemetery plans. The new area will have no fences and no high head stones. The lots will be $100 each. The new water line isbeingputin. Wild flowers will be planted. The price of cemetery lots will be on next agenda.
