Seaton, the new secre- Reclamations construction engineer for the 421 million dollar Glen Canyon Dam. The assignment important went to L. F. Wylie, now assistant regional director of the reclamation bureau at Amarillo. Texas. He Joined the bureau in 1932 and his first Job was assistant engineer for Hoover of Dam. MR. WYLIE will have priresponsibility mary for the building of Glen Canyon Dam. The dam site is in an isolated and arid section which is 140 miles from the nearest railroad so one of Mr. Wylies most immediate problems is completion of access roads and estab-lishments of a construction town in the immediate vicinity of the dam site. b W. A. Dexheimer, commissioner of reclamation, said in con- nection with the announcement that the highway departments of Arizona and Utah are in the construction of access roads from U.S. Highway 89 and the construction of a bridge across the canyon a short distance below the dam site. He said that unlike Hoover Dam, a major thoroughfare over the dam is not contemplated. WORKING in isolated areas is nothing new to Mr. Wylie. Last year he returned from Alaska, where he was construction engineer for the Eklutna project This consisted of a dam, four and a half mile tunnel and a 30,000 kilowatt hydroelectric plant and transmission facilities. -- $3.00 Yearly; 10c Single Copy Series Of Four Productions Being Filmed Here Under New Operating Policy Set-U- p Engineer Who Duilt Hoover Dam liarncd To Head 421 Million tary of interior, announced Monday the selection of the Bureau CUB SCOUTING We have had Scouting for boys age 12 and up.
