Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS Opinion 4 . WEDNESDAY JUNE 28, 1W5 Dixie Speaks Several Kanab businesses have recently gotten into trouble for having tables on the sidewalks. TTiey were told that city ordinance prohibits it. ' I sympathize with the owners who only wanted to create an outside dining environment. However, I feel that its important that ordinance enforcement should be equal for everyone. Perhaps its time to change the ordinance. The Kanab City Council has been sensitive to the business owners. Council members Rosalie Coleman and Ron Parker visited one restaurant to talk to the owner about his concerns. They are open to reviewing the ordinance to see if it is in the communitys best interest. One of Kanabs best assets is its beauty and moderate climate. Winters arent that cold, and the summer heat is very tolerable. Our scenery is second to none, and summer nights can be absolutely enchanting. In a time when we are trying to keep businesses alive and the town afloat, we must capitalize on our strong points. Tourists enjoying eating and being outside. I think that we should find ways to make that happen. . . Letters to the Editor What is your opinion? Thisjiewspaper welcomes opinions from its readers concerning any subject. Most often I Jeri & Fred Denny, Anne and would travel to Cedar or St. George chasingthe sales, but for the last few years Iliave found that you (IGA) have become just as competitive on your prices as the larger stores, and your quality of food and service has not dropped off at all, if anything it has gotten better. The produce department is my favorite place. I spend a lot of money there and it is nice to have such a large selection of quality fruit to choose from, at low prices. The staff that works at IGA always seems friendly and at ease with their work, thus making a great atmosphere for the public who shop there. Because of a job well done, shopping is a little more enjoyable and people are doing more shopping here at home, rather than traveling out of town. Once again a big thanks, you dont realize how much the good job you do affects all our lives.
