This ordinance shall 1-- 1 Possibilities that the local road problems have been ironed out, seem probable this week. The cooperation and interest that many people have shown during the past two weeks on this matter we feel should be made public. One man in particular, we feel, has for sometime and is at the present time, doing a lot in helping road conditions and furthering progress in this area. He is William J. Smirl. Together with Norris (Doc) Macdonald, Mr. Smirl was one of the first men to go to Salt Lake City and meet with the State Road Commission and Governor-elec- t George D. Clyde to help iron out the present road interruption. Mr. Smirl has worked on road problems, and spent much time in, the past Several years on helping promote the Clen Canyon Dam project, including trip to Washington, D. C., as well as many trips to Salt Lake and other points, most of the time without renumeration. Elmer Jackson, Odell J. Watson, Donald C. Swapp and others on the Republican Central Committee have done much during the past weeks to keep programs in motion. Kane County Commission Chairman Burton Banks, has spent a lot of time on road matters and went right to work when the recent interruption came about on the Kanab-Cle- n Canyon road. M. V. Adams, and Lloyd Pugh have done much good on this problem during the past two weeks,' and no doubt many more that we do not know of here in the County. Washington and Iron Counties have been working for this road. Senator Orval Hafen of Washington County, went right to work when the announcement came out in the Salt Lake - papers on the proposed new alignment of the dam access road. If the SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS has been of any help in this matter,1 we feel that It was a matter of duty, and an interest in the public service that a newspaper should render, when needed. We do not seek personal gain from any angle...
