Fashion Spotlights Trousers, Shorts, Britches For Milady By XiJavxrpighi During the early thirties, the glamorous movie star, Marlene Dietrich appeared on the street in a costume consisting of trousers, jacket, a broadshouldered overcoat, and topped with a Homburg-typ- e hat. It was very extreme, and created a sensation. Nevertheless, the idea "caught on," and soon, women, everywhere were wearing trousers. The idea, then just a fad, took firm hold. Women began to realize how practical and comfort-able trousers can be, and today we find they are here to stay, a classic in clothes. The ingenuity of designers has resulted in some of the cutest numbers ever dreamed of, from short, to long trousers, loosely draped to tight fitting, and for every occasion from dawn to dawn. Trousers, shorts, Bermudas, britch-es, pants, etc., have never been so attractive, and the place to see some of the smartest is right in Sugar House, at Halmar's. There, fair ladies, you can see just what you're looking for. If you are timid or dubious about how you might look in a pair of trousers, Halmar's have just the pair to answer your particular figure problem, and to put you at ease. The very attractive, new, vertical-s-triped Ivy League Bermudas will slenderize. Ivy League in many variations, even dresses, is a "must" this coming season. There are also plaid Bermudas, and the ever popular plain colors, and to go with these, the most fetching shirt-wais- ts ever. Trim little prints, tailored, yet with a touch of feminity to soften them. Don't fail to see these new Hill Billy Britches with the clever one suspender to "hold them up." Also, Black Khakis and a new item, neither a shirt nor sweater, but a "Swirt," put out under the trade name of Thermo-Jac- , will certainly intrigue you. You couldn't make a mistake with any of these, and with a clever pair of pants, a smart shirt or. jacket, and above all, LOW HEELED shoes, you can be per-fectly attired for any sport or casual occasion.
