Mrs. Ethel Saunders, Re-habilitation consultant for the Health Department, will open the series, discussing activities of daily living, followed by small group discussions led by leaders from the Salt Lake Mental Health Association. Subsequent presentations will be at the same time and place on Friday, February 26, March 25 and April 29. Mental Health Discussions Under the joint sponsorship of the Mental Health Association of Salt Lake Area, the Nursing Division of the Salt Lake City Health Department and the Univer-sity of Utah Extension Division, parents of handicapped children are continuing with a discussion series of at least four meetings. The first meeting was held last Friday, at 8:30 p.m., Room 232, Orson Spencer Hall on the University of Utah Campus. Because these parents felt the recent series was so valuable, they decided to continue, and hope to One of the highlights of the Winter Board meeting held at Pot-pourri Cafe, Sunday morning Jan-uary 31st was a brief history of the newest Federation of Business and Professional Women, Puerto Rico. We were interested to learn about the habits, customs, in-dustries, education, and culture of these people. They are definitely a great asset to this Federation of Business and Professional Women. The 'Buzz Session' of the standing committees was very informative and many fine ideas were exchanged. A report on the National Program Planning meet-in- g was given by Miss Ada Burt. After hearing Mr. William Fitz-patric- k's . splendid talk on 'Trusts," "Guardianship," and the importance of ' ( Wills, " we will all be busy getting our affairs in order and making our wills. . February 10, 7:00 p.m. at Harman's Cafe in Sugar House, the Sugar House Business and Professional Women's Club will hold its monthly dinner meeting under the direction of Mrs. Ted Miller, president. "From Abe to Ike," has been chosen as the theme by the National Security committee which is in charge of this meeting. Mrs.H. E. Updegraff, chairman, has arranged for Miss Ada Burt, National Security Chairman for the National Federation of Business and Pro-fessional Women to speak on the National Theme, "Effective Liv-ing." Even though women are in the business and professional world they have a tremendous responsibility to prepare their families and their homes for sur-vival in the missile age, says Miss Burt. Dinner arrangements will be made by Mrs. J. E. Williams, an of the National Sec-urity Committee. She will also read the club "Collect." Beautiful table decorations, carrying out the patriotic theme of the month will be made by Mrs. J.O. Ritchie, Mrs. Anna Belle Brown and Mrs. Marguerite Lowe. Patriotic musical recordings will, be pre-sented by Mrs. E. D. Kennelly. Mrs. G.S. Nash will give a short talk on ' Our Rugged Constitution." The Sugar House Business and Professional Women's Club wishes to extend sympathy to Mrs.Eldred M. Royle at the loss ofher beloved husband. Mrs. Royle is one of our past presidents as well as a former business associate in Sugar House. National Artists Symphonette The National Artists Sym-phonette, which appears here Thursday, February 11, 1960, under the auspices of the Granite Arts Association at the Granite High School Auditorium, 3350 South 5th East, at 8:15 p.m., is a distinguish-ed ensemble of first-cha- ir virtuosi drawn from virtually all the major orchestras of the country, under the leadership of William Haaker of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Amparo Iturbi, pianist, is the featured soloist with the ensemble. William Haaker, since the age of 16 when he conducted a symphony orchestra for the first time as a protege of Jose Iturbi, has enjoyed a notable " career as both pianist and conductor. For nine years conductor ofthe Virginia Symphony Haaker also conducts the Symphony of Syracuse, New York, and is regular guest conductor of the Milwaukee "Pops." Amparo Iturbi has been acclaimed on three: continents as one of the most gracious and talented keyboard artists currently before the public. Spanish-bor- n Miss Iturbi has appeared in concert in every one of the United States as well as Europe and Latin America, and has been featured soloist under the batons of such eminent maestros as Mitropoulos, .
