In attendance were 130 ruests including: some mem-- High PTA' meeting will be held with a guest speaker invited from the new legislature. Following that will be a hot lunch serving scheduled on February 1. The new high school does not as yet have a cafeteria which prevents the chil-dren from participating in the school hot-lunc- h program. Parents on this day will serve a lunch of hot chile to the students and it is contemplated that if the program is a success it will be continued on a once a month basis at least. On February 7 the Parent Ed-ucation program gets under way directed by Doctor and Mrs. F. Le-Gran- de Magleby of 2152 E. Crystal Ave. This will consist of a series of 6 weekly lectures by qualified people on how to handle the nor-mal child. The grand smash hit of the plan-ning was the offer of a slenderizing course to every member or mother who joins the organization, an-nounced Mrs. David Saley, Jr., piosident. bers of the state council. Six stu-dents served the refreshments which consisted of several kinds of sandwiches and hot tomato juice. The "Ship of Friendship" motif was carried through with a large table decoration of a sea foam ship standing on .blue spun glass. The president and officers wore sailor hats and Principal Fred Arbogast was presented with a captain's hat. A friendship song composed by members and sung to the tune of "Daisy, Daisy" promoted a friendly atmosphere in which the planning of future events was considered and approved. On January 28 the next Highland Well-know- n Utahn Featured On "War and Peace" Robert Peterson, who is studying music at Juliard School of Music in New York, appeared on "War and Peace" NBC Opera Sunday, as one of the singers. Soloist with the New York Opera, before Christmas, he appeared and-sever- al times received many wonderful reviews. It will be remembered Robert took a leading role in the summer theater musicals at the University of Utah two years ago. Olympus Council (Continued from Tage 1) would be theirs as a result or to continue as they are and be tagged as "free loader." Such a statement is much oversimplified, continued Mr. Duffin. There are complex problems which should first be in-vestigated such as the status of the County Hospital which accepts patients from all over the state without adequate remuneration from other counties. Also the hos-pital is used as a training school by the University's school of med-icine. These with other facts might lead to the conclusion that the hospital should be state oper-ated. There is also an overlapping of duties with the State Board of Health and the Salt Lake City Board of health especially in the inspection of milk and meat. This should be further studied. One group of citizens propose that Salt Lake City be disincorp-orated and that the Salt Lake County government be empowered to function for the entire area. A plan similar to this being worked in Denver, Colorado now. In addition to these problems concerning government there is also discussion about a swimming pool for the area. In some other places l3rre outdoor pools have been built. These, however, are out of 'use for several months of the year making the upkeep costly. The building of a large pool in the Granite High opened throughout the year and jointly operated as to expense by the school and the citizens through a recreation foun-dation is being considered. Also a Culture center for aesthetic arts is contemplated. The Community Council com-mittee has several sub-committ-established.
