Show INDEPENDENT Sugar House Thursday. December 19. 1957 Page 5 Passport to Loveliness j BY RUTH TOLMAN Famous artists and make-u- p ar-tists agree that the ideal face shape is oval. Here are some tips to help you accentuate your good (features and flatter your poor 'ones, thus creating the illusion of the classic oval, regardless of natural face shape. It your face is round . . . a hair arrangement that will I add height is helpful. A diagonal j part high on the head is good, with a slight wave on either side of the forehead. Keep hair snug I at the ears. ! If your face is long ... strive for a shortening and wid-ening effect by wearing your hair in a fluffy halo, with side fullness at or below the ears. Avoid extremely long or short hair-do- s. If your face is heart-shape- d . . . you may want to accent it with a high or center part with bangs curving across the forehead, the; hair snug at the temples with soft fullness below the ears. If your face is square . . . a low side part with an off-cent- er balance to the hair silhou-ette and soft curving lines will' be most flattering. A hair style that is neither too bushy nor too long will create an oval illu-- I sion. Above all, however, remember that beautiful hair is healthy hair, and healthy hair is "squeaky" clean. Shampoo your hair as often as is necessary, and brush, brush brush to stimulate circulation in the scalp and to polish the hair itself. --j Chemistry.
