It has been established by actual practice that 250 cubic feet of coal gas the ordinary gas that is used for household illumination purposes equals one gallon of petrol when applied to the work of driving a motor vehicle. If gas costs 72 cents 1,000 cubic feet it is equivalent to petrol at 18 cents a gallon, and nt 96 cents 1,000 cubic feet is equivalent to Its competitor at 24 cents a gallon. As petrol cannot be bought today for commercial purposes at under 48 to 58 cents a gallon, it will be seen how great is the economy effected. So far as the alterations rendered necessary to the engine of a motor vehicle are concerned, the only additional expenditure is about $3.60, and the gas bag container for the storing of the vapor costs $75. Thus, for the expenditure of $78.60, an ordinary petrol using motor vehicle of any description can be converted into a gas driven one, and the driving expenses reduced llire List mns e , reservation TMs reported ffSe "SThe annual convention of the Utah superintendents and boards of at the capitol Frieducation .was held ' day aiul Saturday. been men have over two hundred new sugar factory at Ainl)loved on the construction under Is which roinisl), Cache Sugar company. by the West is The federal government ' Inspecting of horses hundreds ,nd purchasing the only boasts which daily at Ogden, in station stock inspection live federal 1 the west. due to heavy Scarcity of male help forced has packers and enlistments canners of Weber county to employ small boys in women, girls and even factories. the The annual convention of the Utah association will be State Firemens 26.
