As we sing together we are learning to love and respect each other. We are also learning about each others cultures. This leads to respect and ultimately brotherly (and sisterly) love for one another. This is a land of immigrants Anasazi, Ute, Paiute, Na- - vajo, Hole-in-the-Rocke- rs, cowboys, Pachecoites, and those who have been led here in later years. The land is known to the Utes as Avikan, to the Navsgos as Dine ke ya (Land of the People), and to the Mormon pioneers as the San Juan Mission. Now it is collectively called San Juan County. Albert R. Lyman stated that everyone who would come into this area would come to fulfill a foreordained purpose. Because of that, there is here an assemblage of talent, abilities, vision, and willingness to serve that far surpasses that of most communities. Pugh states, The Bible and the Book of Mormon both testify that America has been specially prepared by the Creator. He has brought people to this land, both in ancient and in modern times, who share a common ancestry and foreordained mission. This ancestry goes back to the House of Israel. There is a divine purpose associated with this land. For us to be successful in fulfilling our role here, all of us, regard- among all of us. The pageant shows how two people of different cultures come together as friends and find that they really are brothers through Jesus. The love of our savior binds them together and can bind us all in the same way. We invite all of you to come and feel the magic of the Saviors love. He can work a great miracle in each of us if we are willing to work for it. We know this can and should happen.
