Show former local woman vi passes away mr and mrs D B perkins and mr and mrs john perkins returned to their homes from cedar city last friday where they had gone to attend the funeral of their sister mrs kathryn perkins ryan who passed away in los angeles calif july ath they were accompanied home by their sister mrs vira mrs ruth bailey another sister was unable to attend the funeral complying with mrs ryans request her body was returned to cedar city for burial her son edmund ryan and mrs went to cedar city to arrange for the interment funeral services were held in los angeles before their departure graveside service was conducted in cedar city mr wm palmer a long time friend of the family gave a brief talk he recalled many contributions made to the social and civic life of cedar city by mrs ryan and her husband E H ryan the ryans were married in 1891 they moved from monticello to cedar where they lived until the death of mr ryan in 1921 mrs ryan was the daughter of mr and mrs benjamin perkins she with her sisters mary jane wilson and naomi bronson were among the children who came with the san juan county pioneers through the famous hole in the rock in 1879 they came to monticello in 1890 mrs ryan was always an active member in the church and civic life of the community among other activities she sang in the church choir taught school and sunday school clerked in the old coop co op store and was county clerk and recorder for several years she is survived by two sons edmund benjamin ryan and vermont ryan and two daughters mrs dixie ryan allen alien an and kathryn ryan all of los A angeles |
